Cadence
A harmonic closing formula — the two-chord gesture that ends a phrase or section: authentic (V→I), plagal (IV→I), half (…→V), or deceptive (V→vi). The functional reading of a progression's final motion: it labels the closing two chords of a note-set-sequence by their roman-numeral degrees within a key.
